“We just have to get up there!”
A steady walk from the Kleine Scharte summit station brings hikers to the trail around the Schlossalm Lake where the magnificent panorama promises relaxation
A whole mountain full of sports and recreational fun – that is summer’s quality and theme-oriented offer for all the senses in the mountains surrounding Gastein.
Whether you are a sports enthusiast or a gregarious holiday-maker, whether you are with your family or in search and peace and relaxation, whether you are a hedonist or a youngster. No matter who is looking for something different in Gastein this summer, he just gets into the Schlossalm lift, rides up to the ‘Kleine Scharte’ mountain station and is in for a surprise. Here, at an altitude of around 2,050 m, a magnificent panorama presents itself to you and there are plenty of places to rest and gaze Those who choose can set off for a relaxing mountain hike or a real alpine tour. Everyone will find his own, very personal holiday pleasures.
“On our mountains we want to offer even more to the guests who spend their summer holidays here. Above all, attractive and varied goals. We are not only here for you in winter, but in summer, too”, promises Franz Schafflinger, manager of the lift operator Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG.
It is a steady walk as far as time and altitude differences are concerned, even with a children’s pushchair, for example from the mountain station to the Schlossalm Lake (reservoir) and its lake-side trail. Similarly the sign-posted circular trail from the summit station and back.
The stretch from the summit to the middle station becomes an ‘activity trail’ that can be covered this year on offroad scooters. An adventure playground near the bottom of the avalanche is in planning. And if there is enough time left, there will be some surprises in store to the theme ‘Animal Mountains’.
Work will begin on the Schlossalm next year to widen the scope of offers for summer.
